Thesis work in positioning for autonomous automotive systems

Autonomous driving is one of the automotive industry’s major challenges. The next generation of cars will not be driven by humans, but by the cars themselves. If cars were to interact with each other and with infrastructure. If they share data among them we believe there are benefits such as reduced computational load and increased computational precision. This can be the next step for self driving cars. Connecting the car to the infrastructure gives huge advantages in making traffic smoother and smarter. At Cybercom we are working towards a smart and connected city; through your participation you will be contributing towards this goal.

Description and Objective:  We want you to look at the types of positioning for V2x. Possible areas of work to improve GNSS- performance

  • Utilizing RSS beacons + Signal strength
  • Vehicle dynamics/dead reckoning

Requirements

  • Student in Electrical Engineering, ICT, Computer Science or equivalent
  • C/C++ and Linux knowledge

The thesis work is suitable for two persons and can be adapted to 15 or 30hp
